About Me

I'm Hung Nguyen — based in San Diego, CA. I spent 20+ years in software, moving from early Java developer roles up through engineering management at ServiceNow, Element Biosciences, and Bristol Myers Squibb. Along the way, personal finance went from a hobby to an obsession, and eventually, the plan.

At the start of 2026, I left corporate life to trade and invest full-time. I discovered the Wheel Strategy, and never looked back. Staying systematic and not chasing has been the key. The engineer in me doesn't go away — and now with the latest technology, AI, and more free time, I'm able to channel it into building tools problems I actually have. What started as a single options tracking spreadsheet grew into a full suite of custom apps: a Wheel Strategy Options Trading Tracker, a budget tracker that has a retirement calculator tailored to the Wheel, a bookkeeping tool tailored to how I actually run my finances for my business, and more to come!

Outside of trading: I'm into fitness, food, and most of all, family. We recently had a new addition at home and the flexibility couldn't have come at a more perfect time. To be fully present for that is the whole point of this chapter. I don't miss the corporate calendar whatsoever, and I love being able to take time off whenever I want, whether that's for a family trip or just a random Tuesday.
